Becoming a moth – A photoshoot with Kim Tams
A day in front of the camera
There is something about standing in front of a camera that awakens the voice of my inner critic. The one that whispers about angles, about perfection, about whether I am enough. But yesterday, in the quiet presence of Kim Tams, those voices faded into the background like distant echoes.
Kim has a way of capturing more than just an image—he captures a feeling, a truth, a moment of surrender. As we worked, I felt myself letting go, allowing my movements to be instinctive, raw, real. Like a moth drawn to the warmth of a flame, I stopped thinking about how I should look and instead let myself be.
The lens no longer felt like something to perform for but something to reflect the essence of who I am. The scars, the strength, the softness—all of it belongs. And in that space, I remembered: I don't have to be a butterfly. I was never meant to be. I am the moth, thriving in the in-between, drawn to the glow of something deeper.
A deep thank you to Kim for holding space for that truth, for reminding me that beauty is not in perfection but in authenticity. I can't wait to share these fragments of my world with you soon.
